Golf / Polo GTI / Beetle / Passat 1.8T K04 Turbo Upgrade
No dates were ever given and many said it would never happen,
but APR is proud to release our K04 upgrade kit for the transversely
mounted VW's. Our kit includes the K04 turbo, the compressor inlet
O-ring, four turbo to downpipe studs, one manifold to turbo gasket,
and one turbo to downturn gasket. This kit is a straight forward
turbo swap that makes a big difference in the power output of
the car.
This kit makes solid gains in both horsepower and torque. With
no other mods than an APR Turbo-Back Exhaust, the kit made 180kw/388Nm
on 98 RON fuel. Although the exhaust is not required, it is highly
recommended.
VW
GTI/Jetta/Eos 2.0TFSI S3 K04 Turbo Upgrade
The Borg Warner K04 turbocharger selected by VAG engineers is
perfectly sized for the 2.0 liters of displacement to allow for
stout horsepower numbers as the rpm's increase with no fall off
as redline approaches. This ensures plenty of power in the high
rpm's for continued acceleration in the straights or for shifting
back into the healthiest portion of the power band at the drag
strip.
Featuring APR's Patented EMCS program switching functionality
and Direct Port Programming, APR's Engine Management Calibration
for this conversion package allows for a range of Octane and situation
specific calibrations to be installed simultaneously on your vehicle's
ECU. These programs and features are able to be cycled through
via your existing factory cruise control and activated in less
than 20 seconds. You will be able to choose 1 to 4 of the following
programs:
Stock Mode = OEM ECU Settings
95 RON Performance = 235kw and 432Nm
98 RON Performance = 237kw and 453Nm
104 RON Performance = 260kw and 498Nm
Valet Mode = Limits rpm to 4500 and 113km/h
The
software (single program) is included with the K04 turbo kit.
Existing APR Customers who already have the APR software will
receive all additional programs and options free of charge.
*It is essential to ensure your vehicle is filled with at least
the minimum octane rating for each Performance Calibration when
activating the program.
Installation can be performed at any of APR's Authorized Distributor
Network and all parts necessary for the installation except for
fluids are included. For best results, APR highly recommends using
this kit with our Carbonio MkV Intake and an APR Intercooler.
An APR Full Exhaust system is required for this upgrade.
