Passat
1.8T
The ultimate chip upgrade for the Passat 1.8T engine is available
from APR. After months of long nights and many hours of dyno work
we are pleased to offer you chip tuning that is second to none.
We have worked hand in hand with many customers to deliver a chip
that works. Expect huge increases in low-end torque, improved
throttle response and a smoother, more powerful top end.
The APR Passat 1.8T chip is available in a 1.0 Bar configuration.
The chip is designed to operate within the turbochargers' efficiency
range. The APR 1.0 Bar performance chip is good for 200 horsepower
(149Kw) and 245 ft. lbs. (332Nm) of torque on 1998-2000 models,
and 207 horsepower (154Kw) and 245 ft. lbs. (332Nm) on 2001 models.
All APR chip upgrades use encryption, which serve several purposes.
First, it keeps prying eyes out of our software and prevents lesser
companies from copying the chip and degrading the product. Secondly,
the encryption prevents the dealer from flash programming the
ECU. Also, all APR software is undetectable to a dealers VAG diagnostic
tool.
Passat
2.0T
The ultimate chip upgrade for the Jetta GLI engine is available
from APR. After months of long nights and many hours of dyno work
we are pleased to offer you chip tuning that is second to none.
We have worked hand in hand with many customers to deliver a chip
that works. Expect huge increases in low-end torque, improved
throttle response and a smoother, more powerful top end.
Stage I ECU Upgrade - not only does our Stage I software give
you higher peak numbers of 188kw (252 hp) and 411nm (303lb-ft.)
of torque, but also gains of up to 45kw (61 hp) are available
at lower rpms! This software is the ultimate upgrade for the new
Jetta and gives it just the extra edge these cars lack from the
factory, without pushing the limits. With factory like smoothness
and drivability, the new power will fill the void in an otherwise
excellent car.
Beetle
1.8T
APR's EMCS software is available for the 150 horsepower (112Kw)
Beetle including the later VVT engine (variable Valve Timing).
The software for the Beetle is available in a 1.0 bar configuration
and produces 196 horsepower (146Kw) and 240 ft. lbs (325Nm) of
torque. On the later VVT motor, which also as a different turbocharger
specification, the horsepower gains are increased to around 207
horsepower (154Kw) but with same torque. Our software is designed
to operate within the turbochargers' efficiency range whilst producing
huge increase in low end torque, improved throttle response and
a much smoother, more powerful top end. Unlike other "chip
tuning companies", we do not max out the boost pressure sensor
in order to boost spike and give high initial torque readings.
Although this maybe good for marketing purposes, it not only creates
surge during acceleration at low RPM, but also reduces the life
expectancy of the turbocharger considerably.
The EMCS is operated via the cruise control stalk and uses the
engine check light on the instrument cluster to identify program
changes. When fitted with the security option you can lock the
ECU into a desired program and no one can operate the EMCS without
your dedicated pin number.
Golf
1.8T
APR's EMCS software is available for the 150 horsepower (112Kw)

APR's EMCS software is available for the 177Kw R32. The software
for the R32 produces 188Kw and approximately 342Nm of torque (an
increase of 22nm). Our software is designed to operate within
the tolerances of the factory parameters, whilst producing good
increase in low end torque, improved throttle response and a much
smoother, more powerful top end. We have raised the rev limiter
& smoothed out the factory "flat spot" normally
found at about 2800rpm.
This model is available in the DirectPort version with EMCS. EMCS
is operated via your cruise control lever and uses the engine
check light on the instrument cluster to identify program changes.
GTI
